USB Arcade Joystick for Mame PC

 

Defender Joystick Custom Made for Mame PC.

No drivers needed just plugs into the USB port and is ready to be used with Mame.

 

 

 

Built to play Defender on PC Mame

I Built one for myself a while ago which I love and play regularly. I never played defender much in the arcades as it was so difficult.



The stick is built for only playing defender and its sequel Stargate . The joystick is set for 2 way up and down so no other games would work with this setup... However the restrictor plate on the joystick can be moved so in theory you could use it as an 8 way or even 4 way joystick as well.

Dimensions of Control Panel

The control panel I use is approx 32cm x 23cm, it is not as wide as the original machine.

To compensate for this I have reduced the space between the left hand controls (joystick and reverse) and the right hand controls (Fire, Thrust and Smart Bomb) so they will fit.

Apart from this the buttons are as close to the original layout as I can get them.

I love using the stick and it as introduced me to probably the greatest ever arcade game. However If you do not like it I will accept it back for a full refund.

Plus buttons along the top that can be mapped to for example....

Insert coin

Pause

Start (Enter key...Start a game from the mame Menu)

Menu (Esc Key....End Game and Return to Menu)

Important the buttons along the top are just extra fire buttons so will need to be setup within mame or whatever game you want to use the stick for.

Hi Mike, thanks for the excellent Defender and Robotron controllers. I was a 1m+ Defender player in the 80's and for a while in the 90's/2000s had a Defender machine at home that I bought from Hastings pier. Your controllers are spot on and give the sort of gameplay and control that's essential at the high levels of play.
